Register your location so your locals, visitors and others can identify where they, or someone they know, can expect a warm welcome. Those that have newly moved to the area, visitors, someone who has recently retired, people being discharged from hospital, community groups and more will all appreciate knowing where to find new friends.
We ask you to hold a weekly Companions Hour for those that prefer to be introduced. You could partner with a local organisation to provide a 'host' and there are materials in your Welcome pack to help you start drawing attention to your activity. You may well want to use this as a focus to generate your own local publicity.
What does it cost?
- 3 months FREE listing for all locations.
- A FREE Welcome pack to the first 50 locations to register offering a Companions Hour.
- If you are not offering a Companions Hour but have Chat Mats available (purchased or donated) you can register but will not receive a Welcome pack.
You can cancel your listing at any time: no minimum period, just 1 month’s notice and no penalty cost.
Your Welcome pack includes:
- A window and a till sticker
- 50 of each of our 3 disposable Chat Mat designs
- 10 reusable Chat Mats for resale/give away.
We will contact your periodically to ensure that your details remain accurate as we do not want someone to pluck up the courage to come along and then be ignored.
In the longer term we may introduce a nominal charge but will contact you to give you the choice between cancelling your registration or setting up payment.
Additional Chat Mats are available for sale via the Get a Chat Mat page. Purchasing disposable Chat Mats in bulk is cost effective and you can buy packs of 100 reusable Chat Mats that you can sell on to your customers at a small profit.
Your Companions Hour will be listed on our website which may attract new customers and act as a reference point for community listings, visitors to your town or GPs and others wanting to encourage social contact amongst those they know.
Hopefully your new customers will become regulars and even invest in more than a cup of coffee.
Non commercial outlets
If you are a location promoting the initiative but not open to the public – work places or hospitals for example – then you are still welcome to order Chat Mats and leaflets which can be customised if required.
We are unable to list occasional coffee mornings held, for example, in a village hall. In principle Chat Mats can be used by anyone, anywhere at anytime including specific events but our listings are for outlets that are open during regular business hours. You may be able to link your group with a local venue.
